This project was a collaborative effort at One Thing Design Studio alongside UX researchers, product managers, and stakeholders. While UX research was team-driven, my primary responsibility was leading the wireframing, interaction design, visual design, and design system across multiple modules of the mobile application. Brand elements are showcased for portfolio demonstration purposes.

Overview
Overview
Royal Enfield has built one of the world's most passionate motorcycling communities, where ownership extends far beyond simply riding a bike. Riders actively participate in community events, organise group rides, maintaining their motorcycles, and sharing different experiences.

The vision for the Royal Enfield app was to evolve it from a utility tool into a single connected platform that seamlessly unified motorcycle ownership, community engagement, ride planning, and commerce.

Fragmented Rider Journeys
Fragmented Rider Journeys
Riders had to juggle multiple apps—Google Maps for navigation, WhatsApp for group coordination, and the main app only for service bookings.

Post-Purchase Disconnect
Post-Purchase Disconnect
The app was largely transactional. Once a motorcycle was purchased, there was little reason for riders to open the app daily.

While the riding culture was strong offline, the app lacked the tools to help riders discover local events, organize rides, or connect with fellow enthusiasts.

Design Approach & Core Pillars
Design Approach & Core Pillars
The primary design challenge was eliminating the fragmentation of the rider journey. Instead of adding isolated features to an existing utility app, the product architecture was structured around four interconnected pillars. Rather than treating features as standalone tools, this ecosystem approach ensured that data and user context flowed seamlessly—turning a static app into a daily companion.

Rather than treating features as standalone tools, this ecosystem approach ensured that data and user context flowed seamlessly—turning a static app into a daily companion.
To solve the fragmentation, we worked on structuring the application around four core experiences that mirror the needs of every rider. This architecture created a consistent navigation model while providing a scalable foundation for future product growth.

The Rider Dashboard
The Rider Dashboard
The home screen acts as the rider's personalized command center. Instead of a static feed, the UI was designed to react to the rider's environment—surfacing real-time weather data, Air Quality Index, and dynamic ride prompts. By prominently featuring lifetime mileage milestones, "Adventurer" badges, and community spotlights, the dashboard fosters a sense of progression and belonging from the moment the app is opened.

Shop Storefront & Product Discovery
Shop Storefront & Product Discovery
The commerce module was redesigned to make buying riding gear frictionless. The storefront features Genuine Motorcycle Accessories (GMA), seasonal collections, and model-specific filtering. The Product Details Page streamlines the path to purchase by highlighting critical decision-making data pincode delivery checks, size guides, and detailed feature breakdowns like abrasion resistance.

Cart & Checkout Flow
Cart & Checkout Flow
The checkout flow was optimized to handle complex e-commerce edge cases without frustrating the user. The cart UI supports applying multiple coupon logic, managing custom-tagged delivery addresses, and transparent tax breakdowns. The post-purchase success screen provides immediate order confirmation and tracking entry points, ensuring a high-conversion, seamless experience from cart to confirmation.

Navigation & Route Planning
Navigation & Route Planning
The navigation experience was built specifically for multi-day riders. The search UI provides quick access to saved locations and curated routes. Before starting a ride, the route preview aggregates total distance, toll information, and destination weather. This allows riders to prepare for changing conditions and multi-waypoint stops before they even start the engine, ensuring safety and preparedness.

Active Navigation & Detours
Active Navigation & Detours
Complex mapping UI was designed for hands-free use during active riding. The interface features search along route for quick detours to petrol pumps or cafes without losing the main destination. The UI handles intricate route comparisons and step by step breakdowns, ensuring riders can adapt their journey safely, report road conditions, and view live traffic data without leaving the navigation view.

Community Rides & Events
Community Rides & Events
Community is central to the Royal Enfield experience. A dedicated discovery feed highlights large-scale official events like "Marquee Rides" and "Rider Mania." For ongoing rides, a "Live Ride Wall" was designed to bridge the digital and physical world, allowing participants to view next stops and contact ride leaders in real-time. Post-ride screens facilitate memory sharing, leader ratings, and completion certificates, driving long-term retention.

Ride Creation Workflow
Ride Creation Workflow
Empowering riders to host their own events required a complex, multi-step workflow. The "Create a Ride" flow was designed to feel lightweight despite the data entry involved. Organisers can build day-wise itineraries, set mandatory document requirements (Driving License, RC, Medical), and define ride visibility. The workflow culminates in a clean publish state, transforming a standard user into an active community organiser.

Design System & Component Library
Design System & Component Library
A robust component library was established, detailing interactive states for buttons (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary), input fields, and media players. By standardizing typography scales, alert modals, and custom illustrations, design debt was minimized. This foundation accelerated the engineering handoff process and enabled seamless collaboration across the UI design team without breaking the visual language.

Platform Scale & Ecosystem
Platform Scale & Ecosystem
Beyond the core workflows, the application housed a massive amount of supporting features. The collages below showcase the sheer scale of the ecosystem—from ride buddy discovery and monsoon gear collections to contextual event banners and dealer-hosted ride-outs. Every element was designed to keep the rider engaged, informed, and connected to the broader Royal Enfield culture without breaking the visual language.
